Stag(ing) of the Hill Theatre Festival

The Mufu Architecture Research Institute was invited to participate in the design of the stage and opening ceremony of the first "Hill Drama Festival" in Hangzhou. We will transform the leisure pavilion at the village entrance square into a double-sided stage, with one side facing the square and the other facing the water. In the design of the opening ceremony, we borrowed the concept of "divine frames" from classical Chinese theater, dividing multi-level spaces through curtains. The movement of the curtains during the ceremony forms the performance of space.
