Location: Hangzhou,China
Time: 2019
In the summer of 2019, the Mufu Architecture Research Institute and four other firms in Hangzhou (Jiushe Construction Studio, Gad · Line+Studio, Soundwave Architecture Firm, and House and Poetry Architecture Design Studio) were jointly invited by the new media "City Secrets" to participate in the restoration of the conceptual urban design "Huansha Summer Map" of Hangzhou's Huansha River. The Mufu Architecture Research Institute is responsible for the design work of the second section. The second section starts from Kaiyuan Road in the south and ends at Youdian Road in the north. It is designed to create a dual "river" system throughout the entire section, with one being the restored Huansha River and the other being the modern "river" for vehicle traffic. The path is vertically attached to two "river" roads, creating three riverside "river" pedestrian belts that run through the north, south, and east; Horizontally, the restoration and construction of bridges are utilized to connect the east and west, integrating business formats. The design aims to fully utilize the existing trees and create a vibrant urban space with a water town atmosphere.
